do you want me to come downstairs, with rollers in my hair?
with Jake Swinson, at BLINDSIDE Gallery
For do you want me to come downstairs, with rollers in my hair?, Spencer Lai and Jake Swinson collaborate to investigate the language of narrative and semiotics, fragmentation of identity and the process of commercial imaging within the psyche of modern popular culture and consumerism. Reacting to the incessant flow and overlapping of information, texts and imagery within contemporary culture, the artists set out to create a body of works that experiment with the unstable, amorphous language and form that is residual of cultural messiness.
